  • We analyze the pension systems of such countries as Russia, Italy, Belgium and Latvia. We provide the statistics to characterize the pension systems; the types of the pension systems of the countries in question are determined. We reveal the advantages and disadvantages of the pension systems and consider the main directions for reforming the pension systems in recent years. By comparing the pension systems of these countries, we make an attempt to discover the tools applied to support the effectiveness of the pension system in the countries of study to assess the expediency of using the experience of Italy, Belgium and Latvia to optimize the pension system in Russia.
