We look at the main stages of the selection of the first Soviet cosmonauts and the requirements to the candidates which ultimately made Yuri Gagarin a certain model possessing the best qualities of a cosmonaut. We tell about the cosmonauts who graduated from D. Ustinov Baltic State Technical University (VOENMEH) as the successors of the traditions created during the preparation for the first manned space flight. | |
