  • We consider the problem of changes in the population size in Russia as well as the rate of morbidity and mortality. Social and economic reasons for negative influence on the rates in question are briefly analyzed. Medical and physiological problems of developmental age are explored. We offer the results of our own studies concerning the adverse influence of the climate and technological and socio-economic factors of the North on physical and mental development of children and adolescents. We give certain data on the President and Government’s measures aimed at supporting small and large families and improving the health care in the Russian Federation.
